Explore the core features behind the Beltone Technologies:
Smooth and precise frequency response
The Rapid17™ digital sound processing system emulates the structure of the critical bands in the human cochlea to allow precise frequency shaping and effective compensation for any type of hearing loss. Rapid17 is available in Beltone Beltone True17, Beltone Reach, Beltone Marq17 and Beltone One! The Rapid system is also available in versions of 9, 6 and 3 channels.
Spatial Directionality
Spatial Directionality is a binaural fitting strategy that allows one hearing instrument to be set in directional mode, while the other is set in an omni directional mode for environmental monitoring. The benefit is a more realistic listening experience.
Optimized hearing range
Beltone’s unique Curvilinear WDRC approximates the loudness growth of a healthy cochlea.
Through the three fitting curves, 50 dB, 70 dB and 90 dB, fine-tuning adjustments can be made for various input levels to ensure that sounds are audible and comfortable. In addition, the MPO works individually in each channel to prevent amplification above the uncomfortable level (UCL).Your customers benefit from:
• More natural sound experiences
• Tailored gain levels for optimal sound perception
• Protection from sudden loud sounds
• Optimal use of the hearing range
Effective feedback management
The feedback management system is a very important feature for providing good sound quality in a hearing instrument. With an effective feedback management system you will be able to provide the gain, clarity and comfort that is needed for a successful fitting.
As an amplified signal leaks out of the ear and is picked up by the hearing aid microphone, a feedback loop is generated and annoying feedback is heard. Beltone’s Improved Adaptive Active Feedback Cancellation (AFC) produces a
signal (grey wave) that is equal in frequency and amplitude but opposite in phase
to the feedback signal (blue line). The result is a cancellation of the whistling loop.
Beltone's new Feedback Eraser with WhistleStop, available in Beltone True17, provides improved feedback path modeling and more added stable gain than any other feedback system on the market today.
Listening becomes more pleasant
The Beltone Sound Cleaner and new Sound Cleaner Pro are spectral subtraction-based noise reduction systems. They operate in all 17 compression channels and analyze the incoming signal at 1 millisecond intervals to determine whether speech or noise is present. The noise detector estimates the noise spectrum in the pauses of speech and subtracts that spectrum from the succeeding input. Sound Cleaner Pro builds upon the Sound Cleaner foundation and not only reduces unwanted noise from the signal, but does so without appreciably reducing the spech portion of the signal. The Sound Cleaner is available in Beltone True6, Beltone Reach, Beltone Marq17 and Beltone One!. New Beltone Sound Cleaner Pro is available in True 17. Other Noise Reduction systems can be found in Beltone Marq9, Beltone LINQ and Beltone ACCESS products.
E
ffective wind noise suppression
Wind Noise Suppression detects and suppresses noise generated by wind, including mild breeze. This feature can be set to Mild (-10 dB), Moderate (-15 dB) or Strong (-20 dB). Wind Noise Suppression is available in Beltone Reach and Beltone Identity (Mild -10dB option).
Enhanced speech understanding

Smart Beam Steering is part of the Improved Adaptive Directionality feature that seeks to enhance speech understanding. Smart Beam Steering automatically adapts to the optimal width of the directional beam. The hearing aid wearer will experience continued maximum focus on the signal of interest - even in constantly changing environments.
Smart Beam Steering is available in Beltone True17 and Beltone Reach. Other flexible directionality systems can be found in Beltone One!, Beltone Identity,
Beltone Marq, Beltone LINQ and Beltone ACCESS products.
For optimal settings
The Beltone Satisfaction Journal gathers data on how the customer uses the hearing aid. During follow-up fittings, the Journal information can be applied when adjusting the settings of the hearing aid. This data logging feature also provides more accurate information when counseling the client.

Beltone Satisfy helps your customers to adapt smoothly to their new hearing aids. The feature allows the customer’s preferred amplification settings to be implemented at the initial fitting and then gradually increased or decreased to the optimal settings.
The Beltone fitting formula: BAFA
Beltone’s fitting prescription formula, known as Beltone Adaptive Fitting Algorithm (BAFA), is an effective starting point for fitting all Beltone hearing instruments. BAFA combines loudness normalization and loudness equalization. The result is an initial fit with appropriate gain and comfort settings, while at the same time considering personal preference in judging satisfactory hearing instrument gain.
